Airis Parallel Overdrive V2
It’s a Parallel Boost/Overdrive.
What does that mean? Well, it starts with a linear clean boost. This takes your guitar signal and only makes it louder without changing your tone at all. Then you bring in the Overdrive with the Blend control and decide exactly how much you want of each!
This pedal is our first drive that’s tailored towards more modern amps and modelers. Normally an aggressive overdrive can be too much for a tight modern amp, but one turn of a knob can give you just as much or as little as you want.
Volume: This control is active no matter what the other controls are set at. It takes your tone anywhere from 0-40db. Too much can overload the input of some gear. It's seriously that loud.
Blend: This gives you the ability to go from 100% Boost pedal to 100% Overdrive pedal and anywhere in between. Using this, you can crank controls like the Dirt and make it as nasty as you like without totally ruining your clarity. Bonus Feature: with the Blend all the way down it can be used as a solo boost in your Effects loop.
Dirt: This adds anywhere from a little to a TON of distortion to your signal. We've gone with our favorite clipping option to keep the gain staging crisp and crunchy. You wont hear any of it with the Blend control at minimum, so turn them both up a bit before you start tweaking. Keep in mind that the more distortion you add, the noisier it will get. The more output you add from this VERY high output pedal, the more you amplify the noise.
Mids: This brings in more of where your guitar lives, the Mids! Lower settings will keep things smooth and liquidy, while higher settings will add a grind, snarl and bite unlike any other. This control is also "bypassed" with the Blend control at minimum, so don't be alarmed if you don't always hear it. This is one of those things that can be absolutely incredible if blended in parallel with your existing tone.
Bright: This changes the frequency range of the Mids control allowing you to fine-tune just how bright and grinding your tone is.
Clip: This switch changes the character of your clipping/distortion. It will be most noticeable at higher gain settings, but makes a difference at any level.
Tight: This footswitch does exactly what it says. It makes your tone tighter!
Noise Gate: This one is doing it's own thing as you play. The threshold control for it is located inside, but we set them at the optimum point so that it works with whatever you run it into. While this is NOT a replacement for a dedicated gate, it can cut out the noise brought on by boosting your signal and can potentially replace the noise gate in front of your amp if you use one in the loop at the same time.
Power: The Parallel Overdrive features an onboard bi-polar power supply, so it requires 9volts ONLY!!! Higher voltage will only damage it.
