MOOER Prime P1: The World's Smallest Gig Rig

In the world of guitar effects and pedals, Mooer is a name that is well-known and respected. Recently, they introduced their latest product, the Mooer Prime P1, which promises to be a game-changer for guitar players looking for a compact and versatile solution.

Cut down on all the crap you have to carry around with you on tour or when travelling. The Mooer Prime P1 replaces multiple guitar effects and pedals, a pedal power supply, a headphone amp with Bluetooth connectivity, a looper, and a drum machine. It is also a guitar interface for recording and live streaming.

Tech n Specs for Mooer Prime P1

The device has a minimalist form factor and design that is reminiscent of the classic iPod. It features a multi-function illuminated button that is long-pressed to power on and off and quickly pressed to step through different presets. The rotating knob adjusts the master volume, and the top-mounted and side-mounted headphone jacks allow for easy connectivity.

To access the P1's inner features, users will need to download the Mooer Prime app, which is available on both Android and iOS. The app is easy to navigate and displays the effects settings in a simple layout. Users can swipe to navigate the effects blocks, tap to select, tap again to turn the block on and off, and long touch on the effects block to reposition it along the signal chain.

The app offers 126 different amp and effects options, all based on Mooer's signature and great-sounding MNRS tone technology. The guitar firmware only offers series writing, which is suitable for most users. The bass firmware has 73 effects, ten amp models, and dual routing in parallel.

The app's folder icon opens the on-device tone library, which has category groups according to genre. The mixer icon opens the mixer master and USB overall output volume controls, with master assigned to the quarter-inch output of the P1, while USB is assigned to the output volume of the USB-C port going into the phone or computer.

The coolest feature is that the looper syncs to the drum machine, so users can make their backing tracks. The device also includes a metronome, a tuner, and a looper with 40 different drum patterns, ten metronomes, and 80 seconds of loop recording.

Overall, the Mooer Prime P1 promises to be a great solution for guitar players who want a compact and versatile device that replaces multiple pedals and effects. At a price point of around $250 CAD, it is an affordable option that does not compromise on quality or functionality.

The Mooer Prime P1 comes in a carrying case and includes a USB-C to USB-A charging cable. It has an internal lithium battery that provides four and a half hours of playtime, but it can also be plugged into a power supply or power bank for more continuous operation.
